The Hebert and Tavarez children put on a dramatic representation of the Way of the Cross in our backyard yesterday on Good Friday. They planned it out themselves, created their own costumes and performed it for the rest of our families and some friends from the neighborhood.
Hopefully this dramatic representation of the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ will enrich your Easter Triduum.

I do want to share what I see in my children acting out the mysteries of our faith. I think of it as the integrated Catholic life. Our kids go to mass at least every week and many times they attend daily mass, it is part of who we are. We also read stories about our faith and our kids may wish to play and put themselves in those stories, even the ones that are difficult to understand (like the passion). We even encourage our children to act out their faith. So I love it when my kids are so connected to a story that we hear at Mass (like last Sunday’s gospel or the stations of the cross) that they wish to participate in it physically and in their own way enter into that mystery. That is why I like it and find it entertaining and an affirmation of our method of raising our children in the faith.
